Plumeria ‘Barbara Hoak’ is a unique Florida Colors Nursery Seedling of Plumeria pudica (2012). The pod parent is an original seedling of P. pudica named "La Florida." This variety showcases very large 4-inch multi-colored flowers with a modest scent of frangipani. The blooms are white with a light edge of pink on the underside, complemented by large, glossy leaves reminiscent of P. rubra. Notably, there is a total absence of rust on the leaves, enhancing its appeal. ‘Barbara Hoak’ is being used intensely for breeding purposes, with pollen from dark red flowers continuing the legacy of Bill Moragne. Named in honor of the widow of Joe Hoak, a prominent horticulturist and nursery owner in South Florida, this seedling is a testament to dedication and excellence in horticulture.
